Necessary cookies
This site sets exactly two cookies without asking, and both exist only to remember your answer about cookies.

Both are set with SameSite=Lax and are sent over an encrypted connection in production.
If you reject everything we still have to set these two, because otherwise the site has no way to remember that you said no.
Analytics cookies
Loaded through Google Tag Manager, and only once you have given analytics consent. Before that the script is not loaded at all, rather than loaded and idle.
They tell us which pages get read, where visitors arrive from, and where people leave. They are not used to identify individuals.
Marketing cookies
This site does not currently use any. The option appears on the banner so that the choice exists if that changes, and nothing in this category will be set unless you allow it.
What we record when you answer
Keeping a record of consent is a legal obligation, so the following is written to our back office:
- your random reference;
- the answer you chose: accept all, reject all, custom, or withdrawn;
- the categories accepted on that occasion;
- the policy version you were shown at the time;
- the IP address you answered from;
- your browser's user agent string;
- the language you were reading in;
- the page you were on;
- the date and time.
This exists so the company can show that consent was actually given, when, and against which version of the policy. It is not used to track how you use the site.
Changing your mind
Use the cookie settings link in the footer at any time. A change is written as a new record under the same reference; the earlier record is not deleted, because the history is what gives the record its weight.
You can also delete both cookies from your browser settings. The banner will then ask you again.
When the policy changes
If the policy version moves on from the one you answered against, the banner asks again. Consent attaches to a version, not to you indefinitely.
